San Francisco Mac World Expo
12.15.06 - 02:48pm

Get ready for the dance. Macworld may not mean the same to everyone, but for anyone with tech savvy it is a world of exploration and fun. New products mixed with the exclusive parties and premium conferences create an energy of excitement, that is innovative and inspiring.
At the conference one can check out the famous John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, marking its 10th anniversary at the exhibit. Classes covering everything from iPods to ways the Mac can help you harness your artistic capabilities are available. One can also get free technical advice and review all the cool new products for 2007. Best of Show will be live on stage for the first time and is not to be missed. Filemaker has it’s own pavilion with a variety of developers. Lastly one has the Blogger Lounge making it’s debut at MacWorld this year - a lounge reserved for meeting fellow bloggers and hopping online. IMacs will be available.
Feature presentations include MacWorld Live with David Pogue, who hosts a Letterman like talk show with exciting guests and surprises. Kevin Smith, who’s debut film was Clerks, will also be there to discuss film making, storytelling and the like. One can walk the world of Cape Cod, into the light of Tuscany, and through Ground Zero when Joel Meyerowitz gives an overview of his 45-year career as a fine art photographer. Of course there is the Best of Show featuring the hottest, new products and last but not least the fun and laughs of the MacBrainiac Challenge.
Close to 200 people will speak live at the conference on everything from music to Yahoo!. Steve Jobs is, of course, the celebrated keynote speaker.
Finally, while most parties at Macworld are exclusive invitation only, some are available to attendees. Illene Hoffman currently keeps the Hess Memorial Macworld Party List, in honor of Robert Hess, who passed away in 1996. Open to all attendee’s, speakers and staff is the Macworld BLAST Attendee Party for $40, Tuesday night, providing food, networking, live entertainment and great prizes.
