Ipods To Reduce Pain

A pain in the neck? - Not anymore. As reported from CNN, research shows that listening to music helps reduce back and neck pain.
The study which involved 40 Ohio pain-clinic patients, showed that those who listened to music for an hour a day had their pain drop between 12 and 21 percent.
It did not matter which type of music they listened to, as one group listened to pop or nature and one to jazz or symphony. The only group that didn’t feel a reduction in pain was the control group who listened to no music.
Back and neck pain are not the only health issues music has been shown to help with. Immune function, insomnia, high blood pressure and quality of life for cancer patients are also among those helped by the simple power of music.
According to study co-author Sandra Siedlecki, Ph.D, R.N. of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, it is best to use headphones or those little white earbuds when listening to the music.
