An iPod Highrise!!! (yep a real iPod building!)

In Dubai, Omniyat Properties, is planning a project for more than Dh3 billion. The project will be a tower (23 story tower!) sitting atop a docking station, angled at exactly six degrees to give the perfect look of an iPod charging up. Details on what the inside will look like, have not yet been released, but one can already imagine beds that look like click-wheels and music wafting from
iPod doors.
While an iPod tower may seem a bit bizarre to some, Dubai is already home to some of the most interesting buildings in the world. The iPod tower will actually have a harder time standing
out than one would think. Dubai flaunts buildings such as the Jumeirah beach hotel - formed in the shape of a wave, the amazing Burj-al-ara - designed to resemble a billowing sale, the Burj Dubai - the worlds tallest skyscraper standing over half a mile high, currently under construction and not to be forgotten the Hydropolis - an actual underwater hotel, expected to open at the end of 2007.
Omniyat Properties, only around for a year, has already put up four luxury commercial developments in Business Bay and has one residential tower. It’s property portfolio is worth Dh2.7 billion and next year they plan to launch new companies underneath Omniyat Holdings parent company.
President and CEO, Mehdi Amjad, said “Our aim was to launch three projects this year but strong market demand encouraged us to deliver more. Out of the entire portfolio, we have sealed sales worth approximately Dh2.4 billion.”
