The Beatle And Apple Marriage

And they lived happily ever after…

Back in 1968, the Beatles Fab Four created the Apple Corps, a name for their company with the logo and trademark registered.

Then came Apple Computer and 26 years of legal wrangling began.

Today the dispute is over at last and peace is back. The Beatles’ Apple Corps has agreed to let Apple Inc. (formerly Apple computer) have full use and rights of the name.

Apple Inc. will then license back the name Apple Corps within the Apple Inc. business. What this means is that the Beatles music will most likely now be made available through Apple’s iTunes.

Steve Jobs spoke after the settlement saying, “We love the Beatles, and it has been painful being at odds with them. It feels great to resolve this in a positive manner and in a way that should remove the potential for further disagreements in the future.”
