Working out while listening to music can be essential - and the iPod is the number one way to listen and run - heck you can even track your miles with the Nike+iPod. Well, no reason for integration to stop with an armband or a shoe clip - Life Fitness is adding iPod integration into their commercial exercise equipment.
So soon, when you go to the gym you will be able to plug your iPod directly into the console, store it and let it charge while it lies safely in the iPod holding tray. You will also be able to view your videos on the equipments larger LCD screen, as well as control and view your music library from the console.
“We are excited to introduce products that take the integrated entertainment experience to the next level,” said John Stransky, president of Life Fitness. “In the last decade Life Fitness has led the revolution in merging entertainment with exercise equipment, so it’s only fitting for us to offer integration with the iPod, which many of our customers use while they exercise.”
The first consoles will be available in March with the rest of the line following later in the year.
