iPod & Aquarium = Interesting Tour
02.22.07 - 12:55pm
In Atlanta, when going to the Georgia Aquarium remember to bring your iPod with you, as walking through the exhibits can be a bit more interesting, with the iPod audio tours.
The tours are free and can be downloaded here or through iTunes. They give each of the animals you see - from the beluga
whales to the sea turtles - a bit of history and a little more life, especially for the younger children who can’t quite read the information, printed about the animals, that is usually posted to the side of their tank.
One animal in particular, the sucker, is not normally very interesting, “it’s a dull brown fish” says Bruce Carlson, the aquarium’s vice president of education. It’s story though, and how it was thought to be extinct for a hundred years before it’s recent mysterious re-appearance in the Oconee River, is more exciting and brings the “dull brown fish” to life.
The tours are currently available in English, but will soon be available in other languages as well.
