10,9,8,7…. The iPhone iDay Countdown Has Begun!
06.28.07 - 03:14pm
If you have been hoping to pay someone already camping out at an Apple store in the hopes to get one of the first iPhones, their service prices may have just gone up.
Ads have sprouted up on Craigslist from entrepreneurial people hoping to cash in a quick buck by charging to purchase a phone for someone or giving their place in line to the highest bidder.
Today Apple announced that the phones would be limited to two per person, which actually with the good old law of supply and demand will raise the prices of those coveted first in line spots.
The gadgets are expected to sell out quickly even with the 2 per customer restraints. You can purchase more at the AT&T store but there you also have to sign up for a 2-year service plan thus increasing the cost and adding all sorts of logisticts to transferring the 2-year plan from one name to another (I’m sure there will be those who will figure it out though, we’ll probably see the iPhones on e-bay with a preset service agreement attached).
The lines first started forming outside the flagship store in New York on Fifth Avenue Monday at 5 a.m. Five days of camping in the streets! Crazy! but it’s gotta be a little fun too hanging out with all your other iPhone buddies, at least you should have lots of numbers to add to your new iPhone call list.
