All the little iPhone component makers who were revealed as techno-geeks dissected the the iPhone have, in spite of
numerous no comments due to Apple’s tradition of secrecy, seen their stock prices jump as they ride high on the iPhone wave.
Howard Curtis, spoke on the secrecy surrounding the components of the iPhone saying, “They’re very good at it — and I think they make a point of holding their suppliers to a standard of secrecy, or you could lose the next round if you slip up.”
Nevertheless the component makers have been revealed as the race to get to the guts of the iPhone is now over (Well aside from finishing the hack that will allow it to connect to other networks - but that’s another story)
Component makers they uncovered:
Skyworks makes a chip component for the iPhone. Skyworks stock rose to $7.61 up 3.5 percent.
Linear, maker of the iPhone’s battery charger, saw their stock rise .50 cents or 1.4 percent.
Broadcom Corp maker of the controller chip for managing the touch-screen display rose 1.8 percent or .52 cents.
Texas Instruments rose 1.1 percent up 43 cents. They make the power-management chip.
Infineon Technologies, a German chip maker who makes the parts that handle the cellular communications, rose 3 percent or .50 cents.
Intel, who makes the NOR flash for supplying memory saw their stock rise .53 cents or 2 percent.
South Korean chip maker Samsung Electronics Co., is making the main microprocessor used to run the phone’s operating system and various applications. Samsung is already the world’s largest memory chip manufacturer. They also make a type of memory called NAND flash for the iPhone.
