Ipod Ties With Excell In Tech Poll

CompTia conducted a study involving 476 IT pros to find out which is the most influential technology of the past quarter-century.
Microsoft won hands down taking all of the top five except for one that fell to Apple’s little music player the iPod.
Microsoft’s Internet Explorer Web browser took first place taking two-thirds of all results. Microsoft Word came in Second with 56 percent. Windows 95 took third with 50 percent of the vote and the iPod tied with Excell for fourth both with 49 percent of the vote. The iPod was the only Apple product to make it into the top 10.
Blackberry messenger took sixth with 39 percent, Adobe’s Photoshop visual editor took seventh with 35 percent. McAfee VirusScan landed in eighth with 32 percent followed closely by the original Palm Pilot in ninth which took 31 percent of the vote. Tenth place went to Hewlett-Packard’s LaserJet 4L laser printer.
