AC/CD Verizon Deal - Snub for iTunes or Rip-off?
08.02.07 - 01:38pm

No one seems too impressed with the supposed score Verizon’s online music store made over Apple by signing them to an exclusive agreement. The reason no one is too impressed - well Verizon and AC/DC seem to be ripping off the customers.
There are a couple drawbacks to purchasing anything AC/DC from Verizon and that is;
First and foremost you can only purchase the songs as albums except for the one single “You Shook Me All Night Long” and they are expensive albums. At least more expensive then Amazon’s $9.97, instead you will pay through good old Verizon $11.99. (Tell me again why pay more for crappy downloaded DRM infected music when you can just buy the CD and rip it to wherever you want.)
Secondly the albums must be purchased through your computer since they are not sold singly. Again “You Shook Me All Night Long” is the only song you can purchase over the air straight to your phone, giving you absolutely no incentive to pay the extra price.
There are 18 ring tones available, so in lou of being able to purchase the songs you can get the ringtones. - My, aren’t you just thrilled! So does this really amount to an iTunes snub or simply a rip-off for the customers?
