Wireless iTunes Predicted By End Of Year

It may be coming sooner than one thinks. An iTunes that will load music to your fabulous iPhone without the PC hookup.

“Consumer expectations will advance to the point where they will eschew reliance on a PC and cable to get content onto their iPhones and other portable devices,” says Pike & Fischer Senior Analyst Tim Deal, lead author in a report predicting the event. “Apple will therefore be forced to offer over-the-air downloads to remain competitive.”

Pike & Fisher say that Apple will have to take the step to remain competitive in the cellular phone market and predicts that it will happen within the year.

Already AT&T the exclusive iPhone carrier has launched their own over-the-air straight to your cell phone music download service - it just doesn’t work with the iPhone instead you must own a Samsung.

The report also says that Verizon will most likely be launching an iPhone alternative with the wireless downloads for the Christmas season hoping to create some stiff competition for the iPhone.

A wireless iTunes would certainly take the edge off of any products they come up with, unless they find a way to match the iPhone “cool” power too.
