First MP3 With Wireless Headphones

Apple may have introduced a whole new line of iPods with superb video and web integration but the one thing Apple left out has been picked up by RCA - integrated wireless headphones that come with the MP3 player. The RCA JetStream MP3 player will be the first player to market with the wireless Kleer headphone integration.
The new Jet Stream player is geared towards sports enthusiasts as over 51 percent of adult men who work out wear headphones while they do so. 40 percent of those give their number one complaint as tangled headphone wires.
The Jet Stream MP3 player ships with Kleer technology encoded wireless earbuds. Promoted as better than Bluetooth, Kleer claims longer battery life and CD-quality audio. Rather than using Bluetooths compression algorithm to deliver sound Kleer uses uncompressed 16-bit, 44.1kHz PCM audio at a bit rate of 1Mbps to 1.4Mbps.
The wireless earbuds are wired together, but not to the MP3 player. One earbud has the pause and volume controls. Special ear clips come with the earbuds to prevent the earbuds from falling out of the ear during a hard work-out. They deliver 10 hours of playback time on one charge, (Bluetooth only delivers two to three hours of playback). The earbuds range is up to 30 feet from the player if in an open area and 15 to 20 feet if the sound has to travel through walls.
The 1GB RCA Jet Stream MP3/video player that the wireless earbuds come with has a splash-proof case, stop watch, pedometer, calorie counter and body-mass index calculator. The player can store up to 340 songs using flash memory. It also ships with wired headphones which double as an FM antenna for the FM radio on the player. There are some other unique features to the player which include text turning upside down for reading when worn on the arm and FM recording.
With the FM recording you can record songs from the radio and listen to them later in MP3 format on the player or you can download them to your computer.
The Jet Stream will be available in October for $139.00.
