MP3 Player To Cure Pimples? Just Maybe.

Who would think of it - an MP3 player to fight pimples, it sounds rather amusing, like they are using the vibrations of the music to cure the acne?

However, after a little research on the use of negative ions to cure pimples…

In the 1950’s scientists began to discover how important ions were in body functions. Here in America the general public knows little about ions but in Europe they take it very seriously, so much so that ion generators are installed in many businesses, banks, hospitals, passenger cars and even in airliner cockpits. Ions are used to in treatments to help burn victims heal faster, cure repiratory diseases, rid the body of general infections - including pimples - and even to check the spread of cancers.

Ions affect more than the skin they also affect moods, hence the ion generators in the European business buildings. Scientists have found that too few negative ions and too many positive ions cause people to become anxious, fatigued and tense. A condition known as “pos-ion poisoning”. Pos-ion poisining is often found during a weather disturbance, in smog, places with central air conditioning, and driving too long in the confines of an automobile. (Would explain road-rage.)

The effects of pos-ion poisining have been linked to heart attacks, aggravated asthma, migraine headaches, insomnia, rheumatism, arthritis, hay fever, and most allergies.

Negative ions are used in saunas by splashing water over super heated rocks. This throws an abundace of negative ions in the air leaving the user feeling super refreshed as they come out of the sauna. Detox Spas also use ions to clense the body and skin of toxins, helping to remedy among other ailments, bad skin.

In fact, one of the signs of a body with the need of ion balancing is someone with lots of pimples. Therefore a MP3 player that generates these ions to help clear the skin is not too far fetched. What is strange is pairing it with an MP3 player at all. However, a great marketing gimick it is. It certainly got the notice of bloggers galore and thus many MP3 listeners globally.

Whether it works or not, you’d have to try it to see, for the price of $181 U.S. (As it stores only a 128MB don’t buy it for the MP3 player effect.) Although if you wish to get the refreshing negative ions naturally simply head to the beach, or hike to a waterfall where the negative ions abide in the millions. Basically get out of the city! There, due to smog and other bad air effects, there are hardly enough negative ions to register at all.

The Mpion is sold in Japan and retails there for 20,790 Yen.
