Apple Closes Jailbreak W/ New Update
11.13.07 - 11:40am
Once again Apple has cut off the third party application with their new update, 1.1.2.![]()
The update patches much publicized security holes, holes that allowed for programs such as “Jailbreak” to unlock the iPhone and allow third party applications to go through. Hackers do say however that while the update makes it very difficult it is still not impossible to get through.
The update 1.1.2 is found on iTunes rather than though a bundled Software Update. Before making the update users are told to make sure they have iTunes 7.5, the latest version installed.
In the update ringtones have been changed separating the standard ones from the custom ones and the TIFF exploit that allowed for programs such as “Jailbreak” and third party apps has been closed.
Apple has said that they will be releasing a software development kit in February 2008 for third party applications.
