A Nano Copycat, Except Cheaper.
03.12.08 - 03:28pm
Looking extremely similar to the iPod nano 3G the newest SanDisk, the Sansa Fuze, was unveiled today.
Sansa Fuze will be available starting at a lower price than the current iPod nano just $79.99 for the 2G, $99.99 for the 4GB and $129.99 for the 8Gb. The nano 3G starts at $149 for the 4G and $199 for the 8GB.
The Sansa Fuze offers more in adaptability than the iPod nano 3G as it includes a FM radio, a microSC card slot, voice recorder and is compatible with MP3, WAV, Audible WMA Mpeg-4, Jpeg files, XP, Vista, Mac, Linux Oses. It can also be used in subscription services such as Rhapsody To Go, Napster, and eMusic. In supporting Windows, Mac and Linux in MSC mode the Sansa Fuze can be used as a mass storage peripheral for audio and video files.
It sports a 1.9 inch color screen, the iPod nano 3G has a 2-inch color screen. Like the iPod nano 3G, the Sansa Fuze offers 24 hours of playback time. Not quite as thin as the nano 3G the Sansa Fuze still is very thin at just 0.3 inches.
The Sansa Fuze will be available in April with the 2GB model coming in black, the 4GB model coming in red, pink, blue and black and the 8GB coming in silver. It will include a one year warranty and should give the higher priced nano 3G some stiff competition. It will be available in Europe later in the spring.
