bPodding The New Wave Of Education In Bridgewater

Ipods have been used in educational podcasts for a while now, but Bridgewater State College is using it to create a whole new level of learning. They have gone in depth enough with it as to even create a whole new name - they call it bPodding.
The B is for Bridgewater of course and Bridgewater is leading the way in using iPods for education. Podcasting is fast becoming the next big thing on college campuses as it allows students to listen to lectures whenever and wherever they like - thus one is not stuck going to an 8 a.m. lecture when they have to work till midnight.
Professor Kryzanek had this to say “my students will be able to downlink the lecture onto their iPod s and listen to my pearls of wisdom anywhere they like.” Bridgewater is offering the lectures along with pertinent information about college events via the iPod.
While podcasting traditional classroom learning is still new and skeptics abound, students are excited about the technology and hungry for new ways to learn. Proffessor Kryzanek says that while he worries about human interaction being lost and intellectual isolation abounding still his view is this: “If the bPod gives students a new learning option and plays to their lifestyle and skills strengths, then such an option should be applauded.”
