Samsung & Adidas Will Work-Out Together

adidas.jpgThe success of the iPod+Nike has become so phenomenal that the Nike website is adding over a thousand new runners a day to their site. Runners that like to track their efforts have found the combination irresistible.

Thus it is not at all surprising that competition would arise for the companies. What is surprising is that is has taken so long, but nevertheless it is here, in a Samsung & Adidas combination mobile phone and music player called miCoach.

The miCoach features a 2-inch screen, only 1GB of memory, a 2-megapixel camera and USB/Bluetooth interface. A heart rate monitor and, a stride sensor chip complete the miCoach which is compatible with all Adidas running footwear and apparel. Online users can track workouts with a Web workout journal similar to the Nike+iPod.

Nothing Like A Good iPod Bag

IBLAZEIPODmedium1.jpgiPod bags have been sprouting up on the backs of school kids everywhere. Easy to use and great for listening while carrying your books down clogged hallways, a good iPod bag is essential in todays electronic world.

The iBlaze iPod Intelligent bag features a built-in waterproof silicon control panel in the strap that allows users to turn on/off their iPod, skip tracks and adjust volume all with the iPod tucked safely away in an EVA thermal pressed pocket where hot and cold won’t effect it. Retractable earbuds are also in the strap and can be rolled back through cables when not in use.

The rest of the bag will hold a 17” laptop in a padded compartment, two A4 ring binders with two additional pockets insideand two more showcased on the front. There is a waist strap which helps support the bags with heavy loads and foamed straps to provide extra comfort for the user.

First MP3 With Wireless Headphones

Apple may have introduced a whole new line of iPods with superb video and web integration but the one thing Apple left out has been picked up by RCA - integrated wireless headphones that come with the MP3 player. The RCA JetStream MP3 player will be the first player to market with the wireless Kleer headphone integration.

The new Jet Stream player is geared towards sports enthusiasts as over 51 percent of adult men who work out wear headphones while they do so. 40 percent of those give their number one complaint as tangled headphone wires.

The Jet Stream MP3 player ships with Kleer technology encoded wireless earbuds. Promoted as better than Bluetooth, Kleer claims longer battery life and CD-quality audio. Rather than using Bluetooths compression algorithm to deliver sound Kleer uses uncompressed 16-bit, 44.1kHz PCM audio at a bit rate of 1Mbps to 1.4Mbps.

Nike Off And Running!

Nike is off and running, and running and running… Over 22 million miles to be exact, and in just under a year. A pretty far range to go even if you are in “super shape”.

Every day over 1000+ Nike runners track their runs using the Nike system + iPod which records their speed, distance, calories burned and even choreographs songs for them.

Nike is hoping to create new consumer experiences that are “physical, digital and mobile.”

In accordance with the Nike+, Nike also launched a matching website that along with tracking users data also acts as a social networking site and runners are using it in surprising numbers for socializing with other runners, especially as fun challenges for who can run faster, better, and stronger.

The Voltage & The iPod

Not to be confused with the lightning story about the guy with iPod who got fried - this voltage is completely different.

What is it? a backpack! Yea, I know voltage, backpack - doesn’t everyone put the two together as one?

The Voltage iPod Control Bags are actually great for hauling all your books around listening to your iPod as you traipse over campus this fall.

The backpack has a integrated stitched-in control panel on the strap (similar to the controls being on the sleeve of a jacket) from which you can control your iPod remotely. It has a dock in a zipped docking section and the headphones connect to the shoulder straps.

As a bonus you can also use the various flaps, pockets and zipped sections to toss in your pens, wallet, phone, homework assignments and anything else you may wish. There is even a must have spot for your laptop, padded and with Velcro sealers to keep it in place.

Another iPod Jacket!

You know, come winter it’ll probably be all you see, jackets with the telltale iPod controls located on the sleeve. Especially on the ski slopes!

And you certainly won’t be lacking for variety as we have yet another new one hitting the market,(at least in Korea), this time from iLuv. But have no fear they should be showing up here in the states right around the start of ski season.

The jacket has your protective interactive pocket for keeping your iPod safe tucked away inside, and sports large buttong so you won’t have to remove your gloves to hit play and not stop.

No word yet on price.

Running With The Nano - No Sweat!

It’s Spring - spring heads into summer and summer brings marathons! - (yes, an exclamation point - for some the word marathon actually brings a burst of excitement - for the rest of us something more like a groan of despair - “really, 26 miles! in a day! running!) but for those that it does bring a burst of excitement to, and for those that love to lose themselves in music as they maintain being thin and beautiful Nike has developed the iSkin.

The iSkin is part of the Nike + line and it is designed with zoned body ventilation (basically you’ll sweat, but you won’t show it). It is made from a polyester, nylon and elasticine blend that pulls the moisture away from your skin allowing it to evaporate.

The shirt also has a seamless design, with smooth elastic properties that moves and bends as you’re working out.

iPod My Baby!

Not only can you hand your kids the video iPod and not worry about them breaking it as long as it is protected with the ifrogz tadpole case, but now you can also coordinate their outfit to match!

The new outfits from iPod My Baby come in a variety of colors in long sleeve t-shirts or one-piece outfits. They retail for $16.95 a piece.

They are available online at “ipodmybaby” as well as at a variety of retail stores. In the U.S. you can get them at TekServe in New York, NY, or at the A + R in Los Angeles, CA. Free shipping is offered when three or more shirts or one-pieces are purchased.

Charge Your iPod With Your Bikini!

Wonders of wonders - not only do we have “smart” clothing that can control the iPod through the sleeve and fabrics that have whole keyboards integrated in them but now our clothing can also charge the iPod. That is if you can call a bikini clothing.

Andrew Schneider, a New York University student, has invented the delectable piece of clothing that will soak up the rays of the sun with photovoltaic film strips. So while you are getting that perfect tan you can also store 6.5 volts of solar power, more than enough for your little music player or cell phone. (I cringe at the new lines soon to be heard “Hi, I was just wondering if I can get a charge?, Charge me up baby, You look electric!”)

Schneider said, “The specific suit being built is a bikini. I decided to go with a female suit because of the sleeker form. The demographic I can foresee actually becoming interested in such a thing are those who enjoy mobile culture, hanging out, music, and kitsch. A demographic not unlike that to which the Apple corporation seems to preach.”
