Cars have been integrated with iPod adaption by more than 70% for 2007. Now car manufacturers are not only playing the music, they are also streaming the video.
Car-stereo units are being integrated into cars allowing consumers to download video from their iPod and play it on backseat video screens. The units are not leaving the driver out either as some allow for the video to be played on the vehicles navigation screen, albeit only when the car is in park.
Alpine Electronics has just introduced an adapter the KCE-415i which has been available in Europe since July and retails for $90. The adapter connects video iPods to the car’s entertainment system. Vice President Stephen Witt says “It’s going to be very popular. The consumer wants to bring these portables into their vehicles.”

The first is the Power Bug from DLO – an AC power adapter and dock cable. The Power Bug will charge the shuffle using any AC wall outlet. It has a fold away design that folds flat for easy storage, even in a pocket. It also has an extra dock cable for syncing the shuffle with iTunes at home or on the road.

It seems that we have already passed prerequisite shipping days to be guaranteed our Christmas gift – wait hold the ba-humbugs – I guess we’ll have to venture out into the snow (if you got it) and those fabulous mall parking spaces, or you can just wait and get your dock after Chrismas. (Since this is one of those January one’s anyway)
On to the story – Cambridge Soundworks introduced their new PlayDock High-Fidelity Portable Docking Speaker Systems for Zen and iPod players yesterday. (whew – that was one heck of a long name – three times fast!) – Actually not quite that long, yes it is too early for April Fools – the systems are called PlayDock Zen, for Zenners, and PlayDock i, for, that’s right, iPoders. (Yes I do know those aren’t real words and did you catch the i on the end! – I was tricked yes’m I surely was – One of these days can someone leave off the “i”, the first one was clever, now….)

IPods are fabulous – until they run out of batteries when your’re stuck in the airport with no hope to charge it for another three hrs. The iTurbo charger adapter, recently released, will solve this problem. Simply plug the adapter into your iPod and it will keep your music flowing for several more hours. It works by having it’s own AA battery inside (one comes included with the adapter). It’s a small u-shaped tube and can be easily tucked away.
