iPod comes Standard with Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M

This limited edition of the Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M is now offering a 499 limited edition iPods. The Scuderia Spider 16M is the first vehicle to offer a personalized 16gb iPod iTouch.  There are only three colors that the Spider 16M is available in black, yellow and red.

The iPod sits in a special dock in the middle of the dashboard, where it can be easily reached.  Consumers who want more of a standard stereo have an option for a Cascade radio with Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, and Ferrari will still throw in a 16g iTouch.  Pricing is currently not available, which means most of us can’t afford this stellar looking car.  We can always dream…….

LiquidAUX Car Kit

The cool thing about this LiquidAUX Deluxe car kit is a small wireless remote control designed to attach to a steering wheel. This can be adjusted for right or left handed operation. This car kit has the individual buttons for play, pause, skip forward/backwards and shuffle, which lowers the risk of having a car accident while driving.

The cradle section of the car kit is designed to safely hold the new iPhone and most iPod models. The back-plate adjusts to allow variations in thickness, with padded sides that fit snug to hold the device in. The rotating cradle adjusts the variations of positions. Unfortunately, not all car lighters have suitable locations for use of this car kit.

Help For iPod Driving Safety

Driving while fiddling with the iPod is a bit dangerous. Duh! Yet in spite of the danger everyone does it, well everyone with an iPod, and even if you don’t have an iPod you’re always busy fiddling with the stereo settings.

Well, DLO has just stepped in to aleviate some of those driving hazards by releasing their new TransDock Deluxe. A remote that clips onto your sterring wheel giving you heads-up control of your iPod, so instead of looking down you can at least retain your peripheral vision while flipping through songs.

The DLO TransDock Delux retails for $129.99. It’s features include a steering wheel mounted remote, an FM tuner, an iPod mount, an AV-out port, an Aux-in port and a USB charging port, all-in-one.

Madhouse To Launch Toyota iPod Kit

Madhouse Associates will be rolling out the European advertising for the Toyota iPod Integration Kit due to launch this Summer.

The campaign will run across 35 European countries showcasing the kit with the tagline “Coming soon to a glove box near you.”

The iPod kit will allow for Toyota owners to plug their iPods into the glove box and then control the iPod via the steering wheel or usual audio system controls.

Bosse Janson, general manager after sales marketing for Toyota Motor Marketing Europe said: “Madhouse has produced a number of European marketing campaigns for us during the past four years and the agency never fails to impress us with its combination of creativity and strategic thinking. We have every confidence that Madhouse’s work to support the iPod Integration Kit launch will be as successful as all the other campaigns the agency has produced for us”.

iPod Cupholder Dock And FM Transmitter

In a classic cup holder style the Macally FMCup is an iPod dock and FM transmitter for your car made simple.

The dock comes with a cigarette lighting charging cable as well as three different docking inserts – so irregardless of which iPod you have it will fit firmly in the cup holder.

The dock has a FM transmitter and Channel buttons on the dock for locating your “free” station. On the back of the cup holder is the Audio-In jack set for any 3.5 mm line-in jack, as well as a sliding release for changing the docks and the plug for the power cord.

Since car cup holders seem to vary in size the dock has four spring loaded sides set to contract or expand for whichever cup holder you have, and as long as your cup holder is by the dash it keeps the iPod in easy viewing range for when you wish to change songs. (Which hopefully you only do at a stoplight!)

First iPod Car Stereo – Without the CD

Over 70 million iPods have been sold, and the little white earbuds have become a cultural phenomenon in the 21st century. Car integration has been going on for a while now but in a new step Alpine Electronics is producing the “first fully integrated iPod experience” – without retaining a spot for the CD.

For a while now people have wondered whether the iPod and MP3’s will begin to replace the CD, especially after Apple settled with the Beatles out of court allowing them to sell iPods pre-loaded with music for the first time. Since then the talk has been of small iPods coming out with albums preloaded for the consumer (like the CD only on an iPod). If made smaller with less song capacity it could happen and Apple has already released an iPod preloaded with “Water”, perhaps as a test case in India, and with Alpine making audio systems without adding the CD it would seem that things are moving in that direction.

DLO TransPod Shuffle For Music On The Road

The TransPod for the iPod shuffle is basically a mini radio station that broadcasts the Shuffle’s music to the FM radio in your car. The music is played through an unused radio frequency.

The TransPod docks your Shuffle nicely for easy access while it charges. You may end up fighting with your passenger over songs as tuning buttons are positioned on both sides, however you may also miss the tree since someone else can search for your favorite song.

It comes with four preset stations, so you can set it to the frequencies you use most. It also allows you to charge other devices like cell phones and portable gaming systems.

It features a Line-out function for use with a cassette adapter or stereo input cable. It also offers you a Bonus Input that will transmit the audio of any MP3 player or device and it’s great for broadcasting sound from video games or movies in your car, van, truck or boat!

500 Million Hours

We Americans spend over 500 million hours per week in our cars – while making 70% of our phone calls.

The California Highway Patrol, conducted a study and found that making and receiving these calls via hand-held cell phones, were the leading cause of accidents generated by distracted drivers.

Now we have chosen to add to the distraction, by not only reaching for our cell phone, but also by rolling the click wheel on our iPod, switching stations on our satellite radio or trying to work our satellite navigation system – all on separate systems, placed in separate areas. This can then cause random scrambling as our cell phone rings – still in our purse, or reaching for the iPod after it is dropped while attempting to change songs. These two or three seconds of looking down is often all it takes for the wheel to turn, or for something to happen in front of you seen too late when your eyes return to the road.

BMW To Incorporate The iPhone?

BMW has one of the sleekest cars around – Go to the right neighborhood in L.A. and you wonder how anyone finds their car when leaving a parking lot, as they appear to all be the same and are almost always black. (that really wasn’t part of the story just remembering a twilight zone L.A. experience)

Anyway – the rumor stands that iPhone connectivity will be available in later versions of BMW’s 7-series sedans. The service would work with Bluetooth and is rumored to have lots of cool communication features – As Apple is working with them on their new in-dash i-drive system also controlled via Bluetooth wireless – it could have some very cool features.
