New iPod Nano to be Sleeker and Taller!

iLounge has reported that this year’s new ipod nano is longer to be able to fit a bigger screen, like the iPhone and iPod Touch.  In order for the screen to fit, the new nano had to be stretched out.  I really like the new style of this ipod.  I think it will be a great hit with all age groups!

Buy, Rip & Download Your CD/DVD At The Store!

Totally cool and maybe a way to help boost those lagging CD sales.

In the UK a deal has already been signed in which a company called Ripfactory will soon have in CD rippers (kiosks) in CD stores, thus allowing you purchase a CD load it into the ripper and put it onto your iPod before you even walk out of the store.

The kiosk will load up to 4 CD’s at a time and uses a touch screen. Along with transferring the music to your iPod you can also transfer cover art and the standard meta tags listing the tracks and album titles.

The kiosks will transfer DVD’s as well.

The transfer can be made to the iPod, MP3 players or to your awesome iPhone/mobile phone.

“Once you’ve bought your CDs over the counter you just pop them into the kiosk in the shop, plug in your iPod or MP3 player, and it will transfer all the content then and there, within a matter of a few minutes,” said Patrick McGrath Ripfactory’s managing director.

Have A “Big Screen” For Your iPod Anywhere/Anytime!

About as “Outer Limits” as they come the new myvu glasses will lock you into the world of the iPod as they transpose that small onscreen video to a large big screen only you can see. Definitely the thing to have when traveling with the kids on a road trip!

It could be a little unnerving to wear immersion viewing glasses at anytime as you have no knowledge of what if going on around you. Shots could ring out, something could explode, the whole world could change - all while you are blissfully watching an episode of Seinfeld, tucked away in an alternate world. Thankfully the big screen you see in the myvu has “situational awareness” viewing - rather than watching the TV with the world closed around you, you are instead watching your movie just as if there was a real live TV sitting about two meters in front of you.

Apple TV + YouTube = Couch Potatoes Dream!

Now you can YouTube without getting up off your couch as Apple TV, come mid-June, will wirelessly stream directly from the viral-video site to your TV via a software update.

“This is the first time users can easily browse, find and watch YouTube videos right from their living room couch, and it’s really, really fun,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s chief executive. “YouTube is a worldwide sensation, and Apple TV is bringing it directly from the Internet onto the widescreen TV.”

YouTube users can sit, relax, kick their feet up and sign into their account via Apple TV and then simply search for specific videos using the Apple TV interface.

If you are among the first to log onto the new Apple TV/You Tube don’t freak out when you can’t find your favorite video, at first there will only be thousands of the most popular, with the entire site becoming available in the fall. Each week thousands more videos will be added.

Hollywood Wants Sony To Compete W/Apple

The Sony Play Station Portable is a beautifully made piece of equipment with a 4.3 inch screen, 16:9Wide screen TFT LCD that has 489 x 272 pixel, 16.77 million colors - basically its one sweet screen that seems perfect for downloaded movies and TV shows - so why, when Sony had the chance did they not take it and produce downloads? This is the question also being asked by Hollywood executives who are hoping that Sony will step up and become the competition they believe Sony can be and the competition they need Sony to be.

Currently Hollywood is a little worried about the stronghold Apple has over the digital movie and TV download market and it’s no wonder they want a little competition to help give them an edge especially as negotiations loom closer.
