Phiaton Gives A Different Look To The iPod Dock

moderna_ms600_1.jpgiPod docks now are such a commonality that to be noticed one has to be different. The Phiaton Moderna iPod dock stands out by flashing colors of deep elegant red against jet dark black.

With its ultra-modern look the dock is meant to be seen rather than be tucked away inside an entertainment centers doors. The look according to Phiaton is Euro-style.

It weighs 5.3 pounds, puts out 60 watts of power and comes with a remote control.

The dock is a first in a line of products from the brand new company that made its official debut at CES 2008. Their goal is to provide listeners with a natural soundstage, wearability and eye catching appeal.

Other products the company will be releasing include heaphones and in-ear earphones with hand stiched leather ear cups.

Both the dock and the headphones are expected to be released in early spring. No word yet on pricing.

“Hannah Montana” & “High School Musical” Go iPod

Disney has announced two new iPod Boomboxes just in time for the kids to show off to their fellow classmates.

The boomboxes are sure to be a hit amongst the young tween crowd with one red boombox done in a “High School Musical” red locker theme and the other done in a purple ladylike “Hannah Montana” theme.

“We are seeing kids and tweens quickly follow the adult market in terms of technology. Gone are the days of boxy TVs and CD players. This year, kids will be looking for flat screen TVs and iPod compatible speaker docks with great sound, and our new range is very much on the forefront of this trend,” said Chris Heatherly, vice president of global electronics for Disney Consumer Products.

The speakers feature and integrated iPod dock, a digital AM/FM tuner, projection of time and radio station shown on the ceiling, two 2- or 2.5-inch drivers with 2.5-3 watts per channel, and a smart/self timer chip.
