Nike is off and running, and running and runn
ing… Over 22 million miles to be exact, and in just under a year. A pretty far range to go even if you are in “super shape”.
Every day over 1000+ Nike runners track their runs using the Nike system + iPod which records their speed, distance, calories burned and even choreographs songs for them.
Nike is hoping to create new consumer experiences that are “physical, digital and mobile.”
In accordance with the Nike+, Nike also launched a matching website that along with tracking users data also acts as a social networking site and runners are using it in surprising numbers for socializing with other runners, especially as fun challenges for who can run faster, better, and stronger.

Nike has reported a 7.7% increase in profits, beating analysts estimates as it rides the iPod wave with it’s Nike+iPod shoes.
Now Nike plans to open 100 new stores around the world in a whole new style that will highlight products such as their running shoes that sync with the iPod.
“Consumers want a more compelling and relevant experience wherever and whenever they shop,” Nike President and Chief Executive Mark Parker said. “We’re grabbing the opportunity to … take Nike and our industry to someplace new, where consumers have experiences that are physical and digital and mobile.”
Nike is planning to change it’s product line along with it’s stores. President Charlie Densen said the company is entering it’s best product line ever.
While they did not specify on exactly what would be coming out they did say that all their running shoes would be made compatible with the Nike+ technology by the end of the year.
