Playing Your iPod W/Your Fabulous Home Stereo!

It’s summertime and that means days spent by the pool, afternoons spent hanging with your friends around a BBQ, and some late night parties!

For the parties you need music, and what better way to jack up the tunes than through the various iPod music collections roaming throughout your house. However, for everyone to hear those incredibly sweet tunes you need to be able to hook it up to your super cool speakers and “pump out the bass” so to speak.

The iPod RCA Stereophone Retractable Cable will do just that for you, simple and cheap it is one of those iPod accessories must haves - for when a party is dull or when you have a need to hear some tunes a simple plug in to hear your iPod on your stereo speakers can make an inexpensive iPod accessory seem worth a million bucks.

iPod Compatible Washing Machine!

It would seem the iPod is intent on taking over the world by being compatible with every type of device out there and the washing machine is not one to be left out.

LG has just patented the iPod compatible washing machine. How that would work exactly when the machine is vibrating on spin cycle who knows, nevertheless in spite of the apparent drawbacks to such a device it has been patented.

The speakers are built into the top of the washing machine alongside the docking system all mounted into the machine’s top. Guess the success will all depend on how “quiet” the washing machine is and how “good” the speakers are.

Who knows, for all those who still have to trudge to the laundromat, especially on college campuses, being able to plug your iPod in and listen to some tunes could be rather nice while your waiting for your laundry to get done. Of course with speakers blaring in a laundry room you would either have a campus party or a campus war on who can play the music the loudest.

Mr Foreman Goes iPod!

Imagine - it’s a beautiful summer day, the wind is blowing the perfect breeze off the lake that is glistening in the sunlight. The birds are singing their melodic song and the trees are rustling a little to their own music. The grill is reaching the perfect temperature and you decide it is time for a little or your own music. Now in the olden days you would have had to run inside, pull the speakers as far as the cords would reach towards the deck, put in a CD and blast the music hoping it will reach the back deck without prompting your neighbors next door to call the cops!

No need for this little fiasco anymore, George Foreman has solved all our grilling music problems by creating the iGrill. Not only will it cook up those succulent summer evening meals to perfection but it will also blast out music from your iPod on a 10 watt speaker system.

Squiggly Wiggly iPod Dock

Squiggly, wiggly - and in cool RED! - This is the new Dragon I by Smart designs.

What is it? - what you couldn’t guess by the picture? - well, those eyeball like things are speakers. Yes four independent speakers blasting out five watts of power each (OK, so five watts may not be blasting but a total of 20?? hmm…)

The good news about the speakers is you can bend them any which way you wish, thus directing the sound and constantly changing the decor - personally I would always feel like “eyes are watching me” in a creepy sorta fun laughing way. It is different and it does come in cool red.

The Dragon I does of course charge and play your iPod and has a remote shipped with it that will control your iPod from across the room.

It retails for about $332 in U.S. dollars and will be available this month from Europe.

Hot iPod Speakers

Apple has sold over 25 million iPods just with 3 quarters reported this year. (Think of what it will be after the holiday season!)

To go with these iPods is one sought after accessory - speakers. Consumer reports recently tested six for sound quality and while all were considered good enough, three stood out.

The Bose SoundDock for $300 delivered the most accurate sound. It is compatible with iPod Photo, iPod Video, iPod Mini and iPod Nano

The JBL Radial for $300 was a good choice for hooking up external devices as well as sound quality. It is compatible with most docking version of the iPod, including the Nano and 5G versions. It aso has a full-navigation wireless RF remote.

Finally if you have something other than an iPod, the Klipsch Speaker system iGroove HG was considered the best option for $250. Klipsch was also another good choice for external devices.
